2021 is quickly coming to a close, and we like to take this time at the end of the year to reflect on the past year’s business, plan for wrapping up the rest of the year, and begin our business planning for 2022.
As we round out 2021, it’s important to reflect on the last year of business before moving on to planning for next year. What marketing initiatives were successful? Did you reach your business goals?
Analyze yourself and your business over the last year and make lists of what goals were met and what fell short. Those that fell short, that you still feel are relevant, can go on the list of tasks and future successes for 2022. Those that were successful, you can cross off or adapt to be even better in the future.
When you are done analyzing the past year of your business, it’s time to start planning for the upcoming year. A great starting place is your list of goals you didn’t quite accomplish this past year. Take that, and see what you can move forward and conquer in the upcoming year.
Next, take a look at your business as a whole before you get into the details and specific tasks. Break it down into categories to make it easier to set specific goals. Whether it’s networking, marketing, growing your contact database, closing on a set number of homes or more, setting categories is an effective strategy for business planning.
After you’ve set your categories, it’s time to break it down even further. Say you picked marketing as your category to improve. Next, take that and break down specific, attainable goals. Examples of this could be trying to share content on your social pages 3 times per week, writing blogs once per month, starting up a newsletter, doing more video content, and sharing more personal content to connect with your clientele.
